We’re a team of talented, renowned photographers who work in tandem to offer families and couples the very best in luxury photoshoots for weddings, maternity, newborn, cake smash and family photo sessions in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia area. Our clients also travel from as far as London, Texas, Los Angeles, New York, Nigeria, Ghana and all over the world to visit our studio. We offer photography (naturally), hair & make-up referrals, an elegant wardrobe of stunning gowns, a confidence-boosting one-to-one design consultation and everything in-between. At Judah Avenue, you don't just get photos, you get the full, luxe experience.

We give every client who walks through our doors the time of their lives. Our studio sessions are a wonderful experience from start to finish, from that first phone call to viewing your final collection of photos, everything is planned to thrill, excite and create unforgettable memories.

Not only is our team made up of the finest photographers in DC, Maryland and Virginia, we think of all the extras too. When it comes to portraits, for example, we have a closet full of gorgeous, dramatic gowns to choose from, we work with the best make-up artists in the industry and – most importantly of all – we know how to make you feel completely confident in your photos.

Our studio is based in Rockville, Maryland but we travel all over the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia area including Silver Spring, Bethesda, Potomac, Laurel, Columbia, Olney, Baltimore, Alexandria, Arlington, Falls Church. We have also shot destination weddings abroad and within the USA.

NAFA

MATERNITY + NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

Nafa founded Judah Avenue in 2007. Her vision for the business has always been rooted in a desire to create unforgettable, timeless images via a fully-rounded luxury service that breaks the mould for wedding, family and lifestyle photography. She loves to watch a client walk into the studio and slowly bloom with confidence throughout the shoot, lighting up in front of the camera and being their very best selves. She speaks 5 languages from Ghana including English and is currently learning Portuguese.

FELIX

VIDEOGRAPHER + CINEMATOGRAPHER

Our intrepid Director of Photography, Felix is also our lead videographer and editor. He’s originally from Ghana and is super passionate about our brand and maintaining our fantastic standards. Almost as passionate as he is about food in general, specifically the ethnic Ghanaian dish - ice Kenkey with extra milk and nuts.

JOSEPH

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Joseph is all about weddings. He’s happiest when capturing candid moments of wedding guests who haven’t noticed the camera, or getting everyone hyped up for a big, raucous group shot. Raised in the USA but originally from Vietnam, his absolute favourite things about his job are the team and the beautiful clients he meets.

JOY

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

A Maryland girl through and through, Joy loves to travel and tie her nomadic expeditions in with her photography. She loves the family feel of working at Judah Avenue and the quality of incredible and friendly clientele that passes through it doors.

NII

PHOTOGRAPHER

With a knack for portraiture and an eye for beautiful light, Nii loves being one of Judah Avenue’s photographers because of the opportunity to meet new people with every shoot. Originally from Ghana, he loves listening to music and kicks back with the playstation in his downtime.

ALBERT

PHOTOGRAPHER + VIDEOGRAPHER + CINEMATOGRAPHER

A specialist in wedding photography, Albert hails from Worcester in Massachusetts. He loves working with such a friendly team and considers himself a bit of a nerd. He likes to dismantle, ticker and rebuild anything with a power source.

MARIA

CUSTOMER ASSOCIATE

Maria is the company’s people person. She handles everything after the shoot: corresponding with clients, quality checking and generally keeps everything running smoothly. As an educated photographer herself, she has an eye for detail and works tirelessly to make sure everything looks flawless on the final products for our amazing clients. Maria’s a keen Argentine Tango enthusiast and loves to travel. She also speaks five languages!

MARY

CUSTOMER ASSOCIATE

Mary also works on the operational side of things alongside Maria. She handles corresponding with clients, quality checking and generally keeps everything running smoothly. Mary is passionate about client happiness and creating unforgettable memories for each and every person who walks through the doors. She loves travel, playing piano and baking.

SUSAN

MANAGING ASSOCIATE

Susan sits at the heart of Judah Avenue as the person who handles all of our bookings, scheduling, invoicing, contracts and financial admin. A self-confessed klutz, Susan enjoys sudoku, line-dancing and speaks six languages! Yup that’s right, we are polyglots here at Judah Avenue.

SUZAN

WEDDING CONSULTANT

Suzan is our in-house wedding guru. She works with all of our lovely couples and helps plan their visions and make dreams for photography come true on wedding day. She loves working with such a creative, inspiring team and is an adventurous cook!
