In this modern world, there are so many ways to meet people and had it not been for the connection of the internet we would not be celebrating Shontea and Marvin’s amazing wedding at Celebrations at theBay in Pasadena, Maryland. Whether you are just passing someone on the street or you happen to meet over the internet, our modern world allows us to be more connected than ever before. Of course, many people choose to use the internet for dating – with countless websites and apps to choose from, there is little wonder as to why. But there are other parts of the internet that can prove useful, too – and few people know this better than Shontea and Marvin.
The couple originally met on Instagram in 2013 when Marvin started following Shontea and liking her photos. She contacted him, wondering if they had met in the past, and though they had not, they both decided an Instagram friendship would be fun to have. They maintained this relationship for more than a year before they went on their first date. Shontea and Marvin chose Bill Batemans for some wings for their first date, and from that moment, the connection they felt was real. They found they were both sports fans – especially football and baseball, making it a point that they go to most of the Raven’s home games. Marvin proposed at Shontea’s 40th birthday party, staying true to using Instagram to do it.
Of course, Shontea was more than happy to say yes to her Instagram crush, and the planning began. They both look forward to everything about their wedding day, hoping to capture every last detail and commit it to memory – as well as exchanging their vows and becoming husband and wife. We wedding photographers from Judah Avenue met with the couple as they got ready for their big moment. Shontea got ready at the Hotel at Arundel Preserve in Hanover, MD while Marvin got ready at Element Arundel Mills. Both were surrounded by their loved ones with plenty of smiles, jokes, and laughter being shared among all. With the perfect golden touch beneath her eyes, Shontea looked like royalty as she stepped into her gown. Meanwhile, Marvin also got ready for the big moment, looking dashing surrounded by his own party. After snapping a few photos of the bride and groom to be, it was off to the ceremony!Guests were already filling the seats on the dock at the Celebrations at the Bay, each one eagerly anticipating the arrival of the bride and groom. When the procession began, smiles filled the air as each beautiful member did their part. All eyes were on Shontea as she proudly walked up the aisle, eager to exchange her vows with the love of her life.Shontea and Marvin both tearfully promised each other they would love each other forever, and the moment was sealed with a kiss. Of course, we snapped photos of everything, and continued to take as many shots as possible of the bride and groom for the first time as husband and wife. The reception hall had been elegantly decorated in honor of the event, and as we photographers were snapping shots of the new couple, guests were filling the room. The evening was filled with speeches, toasts, and laughter, and even the youngest of the crowd got in on the action. The dancing lasted all throughout the night, with every member doing their best to get a selfie with the bride and groom. It was obvious how much this couple is loved by all their friends and family. Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your special day, it’s clear that you are going to have many, many beautiful years together, and all of us here at Judah Avenue want to extend our congratulations.
