When it comes to love, there are always second chances. Leah and Nick’s courtship had its stops and starts, but ultimately, they found their way to each other for eternity. The two met and dated each other for 6 months in 2010, but then they went their separate ways. They didn’t remain in touch much but four years later, a text Leah received from Nick re-sparked the romance and they’ve been inseparable since. The couple got ready at the iconic National Harbor in Maryland. It’s right across the Potomac River from the nation’s capital, Washington D.C., which offers it some stunning views. Leah was busy getting ready with her mother and bridesmaids at The Westin Hotel while Nick and his groomsmen gathered at the Residence Inn.
We really loved the details on both of Nick’s tuxedo jackets! The texture was absolutely classy and really made the glorious groom stand out on his wedding day.
Leah’s bridesmaids had her back on her very, very special day. Those moments getting ready on your wedding day with your girls are truly precious.
Safe in the comfort of mother’s lap, Leah rested peacefully as her mother said a calming and affirmative prayer for Leah before she walked down the aisle.
For her wedding, Leah wore her mother’s old wedding bands and the moment that her mother gave her daughter the rings was an emotional one for both women. We love personal and intimate touches like this in a wedding!
While Nick was full of smiles and positive energy, he took his vows seriously and made sure to devote time to serious absorb and reflect on the lifetime commitment he was about to make to his bride.
The groom’s squad is polished, fresh and ready to roll. Having a strong support circle is just as important for the groom as it is for the bride.
The train on Leah’s wedding gown was simply breathtaking. We couldn’t help but bask in its beauty as it trailed her down these long steps.
Many couples do a First Look on their wedding day. This is a way to get in those important portrait moments in the event that there isn’t time for such photography after the ceremony. Nick and Leah, however, didn’t want to gaze their eyes upon each other and break with tradition, so they did a First Touch instead. That meant that they held hands, prayed together and spoke with one another, but didn’t actually see each other, as they stood on different sides of the column. It was a unique, but incredibly beautiful twist on the First Look concept.
After everything was ready, the bride and groom headed to Camelot by Martin’s for the wedding ceremony.
Before walking down the aisle, Leah squeezed in a brief First Look moment with her dad. We’ve had several brides do First Look moments with both their grooms and their fathers. It’s a special way to honor the intimate with two of the most important men in a woman’s life.
What a sight for sore eyes! Leah was a vision in white on her wedding day and her guests couldn’t hold back the tears and joy as she walked down the aisle.
It’s official: You are now man and wife! This moment happens in a flash but through our photography, we capture this still moment and freeze it forever.
With the wedding ceremony completed, it was time to head over to the reception to let the good times and good vibes roll!
