Technology keeps us connected to what’s going on in the world and makes it incredibly easy to stay in touch with friends and family. But, another excellent benefit technology brings is that it allows us to connect with those that we wouldn’t have otherwise had the pleasure to meet. And few people know this better than Eric and Danielle who met on Match.com in April of 2017. Their first date was at the Washington Monument, followed by a romantic stroll around the National Mall. It was practically love at first sight, and the couple grew inseparable. The night Eric proposed Danielle was straight out of a storybook: He staged a romantic dinner at his apartment, complete with music and flowers. After dinner, he presented her with a scrapbook he had assembled of all the things they had done together, with the final page asking her if she would marry him. Danielle, of course, said yes and the rest was history.
Judah Avenue photographers met with the couple as they got ready for their big event at the Residence Inn by the Marriott near Capitol Hill. Danielle had chosen just a few of her closest friends and loved ones to help her get ready for the moment, and everyone laughed and joked as she got her makeup done and put on her gown.
Eric also had help to get him ready for the ceremony. Being a military man, he dressed in his uniform for the wedding, looking sharp as he stepped out for his big day. Once everyone was ready, it was on to the ceremony!
The couple chose St. Dominic Church in Washington, D.C. for their ceremony, and by the time they arrived, the guests were already seated and craning their necks to get a glimpse of the bride. It was a small wedding, with about sixty people attending, which was just perfect for Eric and Danielle. The wedding party arrived, and the procession began, with Danielle bringing tears to more than one eye as she walked down the aisle to her love.
They exchanged their vows, and everyone cheered as they kissed. Of course, we snapped shots of every moment, then we eagerly took the first shots of Eric and Danielle as a married couple. They looked magical, striking perfect poses every time.
The reception was at the District Winery, which had been beautifully decorated for the event. Two adorable cakes stood in the corner, inviting guests to admire and enjoy the afternoon with the newlyweds. There were plenty of cheeses, crackers, and, of course, wine to be enjoyed with the guests, and the dancing and celebrations carried on long into the night.
With the lights out on the terrace and the sun setting in the West, we captured shots of them all. We know Eric and Danielle are going to have many, many memories of this perfect day, and we are delighted that we got to be part of it with you.
