There are times when love sneaks up on a couple and they are together forever, and there are times when life gets in the way and there is a delay in the happiness. But, if it is meant to be, it doesn’t matter how much separation there is, true love will prevail. Such is the case with Eno and Edward, two young people who met when they were in grade school in Ghana, and who came together once more through a friend years later in the United States. As they were both passionate about travel and food, it was clear that there was a connection between them, and soon they were traveling and sampling as a couple. Edward surprised Eno with his proposal. As usual, she thought they were going to go out to dinner and have a good evening, but when he called her to ask her advice on his outfit, she rounded the corner to find him down on one knee, asking her to be his wife. She said yes, and the rest is history. We were so honored that Eno and Edward chose us to be their wedding photographers at their wedding at the Hyatt Regency in Baltimore.
We met with our gorgeous bride and groom Eno and Edward at the Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor in Baltimore, MD as Eno was getting ready for her special moment. Surrounded by her four closest friends and family members, Eno was brimming with excitement as she got her hair and makeup done and slipped into her dress. The waterfront served as an amazing backdrop to the morning, only adding to the anticipation everyone was feeling.
We snapped tons of photos of the bride with her party, as well as a special moment she shared with her mother – the two women looked like goddesses as they gazed out the window together. Meanwhile, Edward was also getting ready for the ceremony surrounded by his own loved ones.
It was a blast photographing the groom and his party, as the fun and games only added to the anticipation of the day to come. Guests had gathered in their seats for the outdoor occasion, each one eager to see the bride. The little ring bearer and flower girls played their parts well, but there was a hushed silence as Eno made her way down the aisle. The couple lovingly exchanged their vows, and Eno was able to make her promises to the love of her life, as she so strongly looked forward to. The crowd erupted when the couple kissed, and there was more than one teary eyed witness as they walked back up the aisle. It was then that the real celebration began. As we snapped photos of the bride and groom as a married couple for the first time, guests were filling the reception hall, which had been elaborately decorated for the event. With streamers and sparkles, a majestic cake and stunning colors, the room was fit for royalty. And when the bride and groom arrived, royal they were.
Dancing and speeches, toasts and blessings filled the air, along with laugher and lively conversation. Some had chosen to dress in the traditional African attire, only bringing more smiles to those who were present. There were hundreds of hugs passed around, as well as selfies taken with the bride and groom, but perhaps the best shot of all was when we managed to catch them together, dancing in each other’s arms as they truly belonged.
The celebration lasted long into the night, until we finally caught a parting shot of the two of them before sending them off into the next chapter of their lives with all kinds of wishes and blessings.
