Kellie and David deserve every beautiful thing that life has to offer, and destiny for sure had a special plan for them. Everyone enjoys spending a night out with friends, and sometimes those evenings on the town turn into meeting the one friend you wish to spend the rest of your life with. This is how it began for our beautiful bride and groom on a fateful November night a few years ago.
Though they didn’t start dating right away, they had so much fun when they spent time together, they knew that they wanted to be in each other’s lives. After a few years of wonderful friendship, David took the big step and proposed to Kellie. Surprising her with a fancy dinner at the Capital Grill, Kellie had no idea he was going to propose to her that evening. In a super romantic gesture, David had arranged for Kellie’s dessert to be brought out with the words “Marry me?” written across the plate. Of course, she said yes – and the planning began.
When we say the planning began we mean it started in full force lol. Kellie went over every detail, down to making sure that the sparklers would last at least 3 minutes for the beautiful sparkler exit she wanted on their wedding day. We couldn’t help but chuckle along with guests at their reception when toast after toast talked about how organized she was and how she loved to plan and make lists
We had been working with Kellie and David for so long, this wedding felt personal. We were so excited to meet with the bride and groom at the Gramercy Mansion in Stevenson, MD. Kellie was surrounded by her group of bridesmaids in one of the luxurious rooms. They shared stories and laughter as they all helped her get ready for her upcoming ceremony. Gifts were spread all around, and by the time she was ready, Kellie looked like an angel who stepped right out of heaven.
In another of the rooms, the groom, David was getting ready for the big moment as well. Also surrounded by his friends and loved ones, it was incredible to see them all dressed in white. The opted for a first look and it was such a sweet moment when David saw Kellie in her wedding dress for the first time.
After taking the time to snap some photos of this beautiful couple, we were on to the ceremony! Going to the location felt like following a path through a magical forest – right out of a fairytale.
Then, the procession began. Guests filled the seats, and even the children got involved in preparing the way for Kellie to arrive. The ceremony was touching, bringing tears of joy to the eyes of many of the guests. It was clear to everyone gathered just how much these two people love each other. As always, we masterfully caught the moment the couple sealed their new relationship with a kiss, and the crowd cheered. Of course, it was then and excellent time to capture a few shots of the newlyweds with their loved ones, and everyone gathered around for some picture-perfect poses.
The sight of the wedding party in front of the mansion is so luxurious – they look as though they should be living inside the mansion themselves. Then, it was into the reception hall to celebrate – and how majestic it looked! Bouquets of flowers lorded over tables that were beautifully decorated with candles and delicate dishes, and a magnificent cake stood proudly in the corner of the room. This generous couple lavished as many gifts on their guests as their guests wished blessings on them
After taking a few shots of just the bride and groom, it was time to celebrate. Friends and family offered their congratulations, and there was both dancing and speeches all throughout the hall. Not a minute went by without there being either happy tears or laughter floating in the air, and from the oldest to the youngest of the guests, it was clear everyone was having a great time. The party lasted long into the night, until the bride and groom were at last sent off into their new lives under a banner of sparklers.
