A night out at the bar is a great way to meet new people – but for someone who happens to be working at a bar, there never is any real way to know the kinds of people you are going to meet. Shaina was used to meeting all different kinds of people, and getting to know them through the time they spent at the bar she tended. Of course, she was polite and talkative to everyone, though there were times it was the job alone that caused her to do so. The night she met Shadeed, she might have been polite and had a smile on her face, but she found him irritating and rude.
Everyone knows that Hennessy and peach go together like peanut butter and jelly, but when Shadeed didn’t say please or thank you, Shaina couldn’t help but feel ruffled by the interaction. However, Shadeed happened to be a regular at the bar, and eventually, the two began to bond over jokes and common interest – something that made Shaina realize he wasn’t a jerk at all. They began dating, and fell in love. Then, on Christmas Eve, he asked her to marry him – the best Christmas present Shaina had ever received. It was then that we here at Judah Avenue were given the opportunity to meet this wonderful couple for their engagement shoot. Shaina and Shadeed – a mix as perfect as Hennessy and peach!
Here at Judah Avenue, there are few things we love more than being able to work with clients throughout their entire journey. When we are able to photograph a wedding after doing an engagement session for the same couple, we are all reminded just how much we love our work. When the big day arrived for Shaina and Ali, we felt nearly as excited as the couple themselves. We met them at The Hotel At Arundel Preserve in Hanover, MD, and we couldn’t wait to get to work!
Shaina looked like a goddess even before she put on her dress, looking absolutely stunning in her perfect hair and makeup. She chose a beautiful piece to wear in her hair, only further accentuating her already natural beauty. Her bridesmaids were in close attendance as they helped her into her gown and with her jewelry, then they lovingly gathered around and put their hands on her, praying for her and sending her off into the next stage of her life as a sister.
At the same time, Ali also got ready surrounded by his friends and family, and by the time they had finished with him he looked worthy of standing on the cover of a magazine himself. But, the time was fast approaching, so it was off to the church as soon as possible. The sanctuary had been beautifully decorated for the event, and it was soon filled wall to wall with eager guests. Then, the procession began. One last look before she walks down the aisleIt was a joyful ceremony, with laughter and happy tears sprinkled throughout. The vows were said with such conviction, it is clear how much love and respect this couple has for each other. But, the end of the ceremony was not the end of the day, and we photographers sprang into action, snapping as many photos of the newlyweds and their parties as we could. Emotion was clearly visible on everyone’s faces, as each person congratulated the new couple and Shaina and Ali began to realize they were taking the next step in their lives. The reception hall had been lavishly decorated, with one of the most beautiful cakes any of us had ever seen standing in the corner. Like the church, it wasn’t long before the hall was filled with guests, all laughing and chatting the day away.It wasn’t long before the dancing began, with Shaina being the star of the show. It was incredible watching her get down with her new husband, and even the youngest in the procession got in on the action, dazzling the crowd with a handstand. There were toasts made and speeches given, and friends and family both swarmed the couple, offering their blessing and congratulations on their next step in life. The dancing and celebration continued long into the night, with no one wanting to be the first to leave. This couple is very much loved!
