As wedding photographers, we get the opportunity to shoot at many different venues, but we are always thrilled when we are invited back to the Overhills Mansion in Maryland. We’ve photographed several weddings at this beautiful mansion, but it’s one of our favorites, so we were all eager to be heading back. This time we spent the day documenting the joyous and happy union of Jessi and Brian.
This incredible couple met at a mutual friend’s birthday party, and it was practically love at first sight. After happily dating for some time, Brian proposed to Jessi on the shores of Assateague Island, one of the few places in the United States where wild ponies still run free. It’s one of the greatest privileges as a wedding photographer to photograph the bride as she prepares for her ceremony. We were elated to snap a few shots of Jessi as she got ready at a nearby hotel. Jessi looked simply stunning with her hair adorned in ringlets and her makeup looking immaculately perfect.
As we waited for the bride to arrive, we wedding photographers took the opportunity to snap some photos around the mansion. This century-old mansion is one of the Maryland area’s largest, most exclusive historic destination for weddings and celebrations. They offer exclusive and delicious on-site catering and event design and there is a perfect spot for pictures in every little corner.
The guests all looked incredible as they filed in and took their seats, and the family photos that were placed around the place brought more than one tear from the eyes of guests.
The ceremony itself was beautiful, and we were happy to take some photos of both the bride with her maids, the groom with his men, then as many as we could manage of the happy couple together.
The overcast day was perfect, setting up the perfect atmosphere for all the photos we snapped outside.
Instead of a traditional cake, our couple opted for a pile of rich delicious homemade muffins. LOVE!
Once the reception began, the party really started. Guests danced and chatted the day away, and soon after, the best man gave his speech – a speech the groom later recalls as one of his favorite parts of the entire wedding. It is evident Jessi and Brian are dearly loved by all their friends and family, who looked on lovingly as they embraced and danced.
The party lasted into the afternoon, and we were thrilled to get the parting shot of the couple walking through the sea of bubbles to their car, and the lovely parting wave Jessi gave us before they drove away. Congratulations to you both!
