Angela and Paul’s Private Castle Affair: Medieval Name Changing Ceremony in McLean, Virginia

Last weekend the who’s who and creme de la creme of all the medieval realms of the world gathered at Angela and Paul’s private estate in McLean, Virginia – The Author Castle -to witness a life changing event that was …not a wedding. Exactly, this was, take note, a Name Changing ceremony.

The pomp and pageantry consisted of kings and queens, dukes and duchesses, princes and princesses, jounglers and jousters, fine horses and carriages, living tables with sweet meats and fine wine! All summoned by TRoyal events to come celebrate the King Paul and Queen Angela. Incidentally the celebrations happened on the same day as the 400th anniversary of the death of Shakespeare so he too was summoned to be present. In fact, in lieu of vows, Shakespeare was invited to settle the debate which led to the formal name changing of Milord and Milady, their royal Highnesses to …. drum roll, trumpet blare…”Kingdom”. This august occasion was such a unique experience and we would like to thank Angela and Paul for having us be a part of it. Enjoy a few scenes from the beautiful day!
