This year, we hope to do more creative editorial work. This is from a calendar shoot for Abiodun Koya, a Washington DC, based opera singer. Abby was fun and open to experimenting with different concepts including this dungeon like shot. The lighting and mood was perfect for the vision, so we rolled with it.

I had the privilage of shooting her suprise party and was blown away by how young she looks on her 39th birthday. My photographer’s instincts couldn’t resist putting her next to a piano and taking a few shots. I just had to share this beautiful shot.

Kelli and Sam are awesome, I had so much fun on their engagement shoot in spite of the bleak cold weather. They took me to all their special places and I felt like for a few hours I was truly a part of their dreams, and when I was editing their images, gosh I got goosebumps with some of the emotion they showed in the pictures, see for yourself below. It was soo hard chosing which images would go on the blog, they have soo many amazing shots. Here is my take though, some of the spreads are in the form of wedding guest book spreads. Congratulations!

The One shot post -Alter Ego

I have been so incredibly busy lately I haven’t been able to post any new pictures. Next week most of the bustle will be over. I want to leave you with this Alter Ego Post of Abiodun, a classical lyric soprano opera singer. Hearing her sing “the phantom of the opera” will give you some gooosebumps. This shot was unplanned, I got the inspiration while she was getting ready for a shoot we did recently for her 2010 calendar. In this picture she is both the diva and the make-up artist. I have been told that many Broadway artists do their own make-up so it ties in with our picture story. I will post more pictures later. Enjoy!

When a man loves a woman, and a car…DC/MD/VA new car and alter ego photoshoot

Mindy and Steve were a delight to shoot, the car, whoaa that machine is sweet! I don’t know if Mindy will agree with me though. This is the same car that was in the new Transformers movie, we got a lot of attention during this shoot, everywhere we went people wanted to stop and chat about the car. We literally had to rush through the alter ego shoot because the station manager wanted us out lol.
